FOUR KIDS AND IT
Pleased to announce that shooting has started on a film I wrote. FOUR KIDS AND IT is based on a Jacqueline Wilson novel which updates an Edwardian tale. Film stars Michael Caine, Russell Brand, Daniel Bruhl, and Paula Patton and is directed by the talented Andy DeEmmony. Read More in The Guardian
BIO
I studied art, but wound up working as a guidebook researcher in China and India, before becoming
a novelist and screenwriter.
My first novel Go (1999), a travel thriller about runaways, was written in a village in the Himalayas.
My second novel, Bad Traffic (2008), is a crime thriller about people smugglers, featuring jaded Chinese cop, Inspector Jian. The book has been published in the UK and the US and translated into German, French, Swedish, Italian, Japanese and Turkish. In 2009 it was nominated for the LA Times Book of the Year Award and for the French SNCF prize for crime fiction.
A sequel is being written and will be published in 2021.
My third travel related thriller, Border Run, was published in April 2012 in the US and the UK.
I have written many screenplays, and a few have been shot. The Anomaly is a science fiction action film; Tiger House is a home invasion thriller; Jet Trash is a travel noir based on my novel Go, and Four Kids and It is a fun family film.
At the moment I have feature and TV projects in development with Films of London and the Forge, among others.
